My Super Power

 If I could have a super power it would be teleport because if I was late I could get there in time and if I was some where I wasn't aloud and someone came and saw me I could just dissapear and they would not find out and when I go to sleep I can teleport to the kitchen get food and teleport back to my bed room.

Bird of the year

 pukeko live around grassed paddocks, croplands and even city parks Pukeko eat eggs, frogs, small fish, chicks and mammals. the pukeko has a black fairy body and a blue chest. they have small eye and a bright red beak. they have long legs with 4 fingers.

 In New Zealand getting sun cancer is very high risk. To acvode getting it where a hat slip on your clothes slap sun screen on were glasses and go into shade under a tree.

Togs or Trackies?

I think it is better to come to New Zealand in summer. because its grows warm when its when its warm you can go to Rotorua and go lugging zoorbing and lots more. the lakes and rivers will be nice and warm and it would be good in summer. The beach will be so fun with boards and waves and pop some manus.

Mr Progflycorn

It has a unicorn horn that can make anything disappear and a frog head that can eat a rocket. The Progflycorn has butterfly wings that can fly to space. Also has a penguin body that can slide on anything. It makes a very weird that sounds like a frog and a penguin.

We watched a video that we used for our writing. It was called 'The Black Hat' and one of the activities was to make your own creature.

maths

 We have been doing maths for around 2 terms and it's been really cool. We have done basic facts. I have learnt alot of my times tables. I have learnt my 9s in like 1 week which was cool for me and my prototic is another good thing my 3s and 4s and those are so easy for me. but i have learnt that maths has alot of patins.

Music

 Its Thursday morning and we have to go to music. We have a violin today. We have been doing more instruments. I thick violin is pretty cool to learn but it is really hard as well. Pizzicato. Was easy but with the bow it was difficult. Fran and merry take us and teach us how to play. They teach us violin, ukulele and sometimes singing with the seniors. They even teach us what's difference betwin a vilan and a ukulele the ukulele has threats and the vilan doesn't but its pretty cool to play all sorts of different instruments. Some times they have drums and pianos we can choice from. But other then that is good.

2021 camp diary

 

this is a dairy of what i did at camp from Wednesday to Friday

Lockdown school

I was at home then we moved into level 4. I was so happy but when my mum told me that i had to do online class it hit me. In a few days Ms mat groped off my chromebook and then  the next i had class. It was on at 9:30 and it wasn't much different. Ms Mat was popping in everyday. It was cool online. We did kahoots and jokes. I was doing work everyday after the meeting. Wheae annie was calling the roll and it was pretty fun online. My favorite thing in lockdown was going for bike rides. It was cool that we could do work at any time and eat at any time. After I finish meetings I go for a ride on my bike then I do my work. I am still not sure about coming back to school.

Olympic Witting

 I was on the podium. I got gold at the Olympics for the New Zealand team. (how did i get it?) I was in a swimming race in Wellington to qualify for the Olympics. I was the fastest in the first heat. There were only two heats. It was going to be a hard 200 butterfly race. I dove into the pool 200 meters later. I came first with a time of 54,76 seconds.

 I left and went home two hours later. I heard my phone buzzing. It was a number I was unformulated about. I answered it and it was the people running the Olympics for New Zealand. I got so happy when they said that ”you have qualified for the 200 butterfly for our New Zealand team” I instantly said yes.  Later that week i was picked up by the bus and was dropped off at the airport and went straight on the air new zealand flight to tokyo, i have never been there. 

It took two nights for my race but I saw my friends race. Thomas was a biker and he got a medal. It was finally my turn to race my back was sore because the beds were made from cardboard it was a few more hours till my race so i did a warm up. then it was the opening ceremony for Olympics 2020 i was the leader of the swimming  team everyone was cheering all the hosts and teams one was there covid. Then i was up on the blocks and. I dove and i was so fast gliding through the water i touch the wall first then there was one more heat if someone beat my time i would have got 2nd it was kace Giltmier he was faster than me but i won the whole team was charging for me i was crying in happiness then it was the medals for swimming. 

many names were called then 3rd place jack kennet from england 2nd place kace giltmier new zealand then 1st place a world record time of 53.56 Kupa Gardner the crowd went wild the medal went over my head it felt like was called as the king the new zealand anthem started i was still crying of happiness and that's how i got my medal.

What is wind

Cross country

Today Tuesday the 2 of June we had our inter school cross country. We had to walk from school to Haruatai, we left school at 930 in the morning, we crossed the road and we were there. There were a lot of schools like Te horo, Manakai, Otaki, WRM and our school Waitohu. We found our spot to put our stuff down and it was the first race year 4 girls. They only had to do 2 laps, then the year 4 boys did 2 laps too. In year 5 it went to girls more than boys. They did 2 laps as well. After the year 6s the girls then the boys we did 3 laps. When the boys were up I went over to the starting line. I was so nervous, then the man said we were all gone. We went around the first lap and we had a pass then I got a stech. But I got thrown the 2nd and I was not behind someone I knew. When we did our last lap I was so tired but all I wanted was to finish and I did. I went over to my back and had a snack and a big bottle of water and that was my day.

My Awesome holiday

                    

 For my holiday my Family and I went to Queens town there names are Nikua Neavah Tamati Mum and Dad. We woke in the morning at 5am to drive to wellington airport so we didn't get stuck in traffic. We made it to the airport our flight was soon so we got ready and we were on the plane it was a 10 minute wait for the plane to take off. then the captain said the flight was taking off. Soon we were in the air it was a 1 and a half hour flight to queenstown i was so exited because it was my first time in the south island and queens town i have heard there were a lot of cool things there. Once we got to queens town we went to the cookie time store there were so many cookies so i got a cookie ice cream. Then we went to our hotel.. We were just resting in our room then we went to sleep. The next day we went straight to the lodge it was only me Mum Neavah and Tamati so my Mum went with Tamati because he is a baby so i had to race my sister i won once and anther and then she won once. So then we went  and booked a robot shark that you sit in and do jumps. So we came back the next day which was our last day me and my sister were the only ones who did it so we went in the shark we were in there for 45 minutes. After that me and my Dad went to go get a mothers day present. Then we went back to the hotel and had a rest the next morning we were at the airport and on the plane we got home and it was a awesome time at Queens town.

Challenge 8 Boat Animation

life on the moon

 It was so stormy and rainy the roofs were like they were getting shot. Josh and his family were in a small house. All of the neighbourhood were running into their storm bunkers. Why are they in the storm bunkers' ' said Josh then their phone started to go off booms are coming and go hide now. So they hid in the bunker and BOOM BANG BOOM booms were hitting the houses and people that didn't know. But then they got a message saying “EVERYONE PLEASE COME TO THE NASA SPACE STATION RIGHT NOW” when they got there so many people were covering their ears because the rockets were taking off to the moon to be safe.

When everyone hit the moon there was one rocket left and Josh and his family went on. When they were on the moon there were bases all over the moon. The moon was bouncy like a trampoline but it was just gravity. Then everyone thought what if we have to live on the moon nobody was worrying about it. So Josh and his family found a room and put all of their stuff down. It was hard for 1 month they had to eat space food until food from earth made it  like fruit and other things they savide for 3 months and it was easy to eat and it was like it was earth. 1 year of living on the moon they were nearly out of food and they had to send someone to get food from earth. When they sent someone to earth it was fine the planes were gone and their country was gone but now one was there. It was an empty earth everybody was on the moon. When the man got back from earth he had the last food siplie on the earth everyone on the moon ran to the food and everyone got the same it was getting harder to throw the years to get food and to sleep which was hard because of gravity. And they were going low on oxygen it was tough until they saw a space station, they sent someone to look at it and people were on it they got the space station to the moon.

Duathlon on Friday

On Friday at Waitohu School we had a duathlon i was so hyped my Mum and dad were there. They called the 10y old boys and girls to the waiting place. First warm up we did a jog and stretching. I was feeling nervous and pumped. The girls went first then the boys when the girls finished the boys were up which meant we were on the line and  ready to start. 

Mr Cutis clapped his hands and we were off the line when the second lap came around. I was so hot I needed to get in the pool. I was on my last lap in seconds when I got in the pool. It was so nice. I did my first 3 laps and i nearly passed cooper and Fergus on my other 3 it was annoying i was held up by a teacher. I made it out of the pool and I was sprinting out. I made it to the end and I was so happy that I finished. I threw my goggles at the ground and I dropped to the ground and I was puffing a lot. I could barely breathe. At the end I got 3 and I was happy about that. Cooper came 1st and Fergus came 2nd after i got changed it was still hard to breath it was a great day for it and i had lots of fun. Me and Cooper were talking to each other and the i was lunch time to eat i had sushi thats what my Mum brought me it was the best duathlon i have ever had it was such a hot day and when i got back into class i laded down and rest.

All about me 2021

Hi my name is Kupa and I am 10 years old. I am a Year 6 at school. I was born in Wellington and I live in Ōtaki. I was born on the 9 of January 2011. My favourite food is mashed potatoes. I have 2 brothers and 1 sisters. My baby brothers is 3, my big brother is 15 and my sister is 12.

My favourite sports are swimming and rugby. The thing I love doing is swimming because I can swim and I am good at swimming. I want to be an Olympic swimmer and an All Black. I am nearly the fastest 10 year old in Wellington. I have 5 gold medals, 3 silvers and 6 bronze medals. I like to swim in my spare time so I can get faster. I have 3 rugby trophies and a few more medals. I have 1 dog and his name is Rocky.

I can speak 2 languages English and Māori. At home I really don't do anything, just walk around and play with anything I find. I like to play and collect Lego and my favourite set is my Statue of Liberty. At school I play on the field. Sometimes I play rugby with the Year 6 and 5s. My favourite gaming game is Minecraft. Every day before school I go see my grandpa and grandma. When I was little I had a cool motorbike and I played on it every day.
